May 24, 2010 - The 2nd Annual Break for SIDS Pool Tournament in Milan, MO was a huge success!!! We had over 40 entries for the pool tournament and had over 20 entries for the Wii Bowling Tournament. The event was held at Lakewoods, owned by Rick and Jody Hanen and the pool tournament was ran by Mike Williams. There were many other volunteers, donors and sponsors which led to the great success. The event started at 2:00 pm and the final tournament match was completed a little over 12 hours later around 3:00 am. The event raised over $2000 for the SIDS Foundation from entry fees, raffle sales, silent auction, and general donations. This event was especially meaningful this year, due to a local SIDS death in November 2009 that the Foundation was blessed to assist with some financial needs for the family. The event united us with a few families from the Kearney, MO area that had suffered the loss of a child, networking us to be there for each other in our time of need. We have been blessed by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, with the opportunity to work for this Foundation, helping spread awareness of SIDS and help those families in need, in their time of grief. |
